Thosea re my questions. Sorry theres alot. Paul asks…

Ideas for Halloween costume?

So I know it’s early but i have no idea what to be for Halloween. I’m a 14 year old girl. And I don’t want to be anything like a bug but I want it to be hot. I was thinking of a gothic costume but I can’t find any I like. If anyone hhas any suggestions I’d love to hear them! Thanks :)

answers:

There’s endless possibilities with zombies. Zombie prom queen, zombie school girl, zombie pirate (shipwrecked), zombie nurse, zombie cheerleader, etc.

You could go as a creepy porcelain doll. An old fashioned dress, black Mary-Janes, and some make up.
Here’s a really great makeup tutorial for it by MissChievous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ngOERgVfEA

Another idea is a gothic fairy. Like a graveyard fairy or something.

Maybe be something from a story like ‘Alice’ from Alice in Wonderland or Little Red Riding Hood.

Ken asks…

Which Halloween costume should I go with (w/links)?

I was thinking from the storybook (NO pink, NO princesses, NO fairies, NO gothic, NO pirates, NO superheroes!) or an insect (ladybug or bumble/honey bee). You can add your own links if you want.
1. http://www.partycity.com/product/costumes+%26+accessories/teen+girls/see+all/wizard+of+oz+scarecrow+costume+teen.do?sortby=bestSellers
-Does this costume come with the boots? I don’t know…it says it comes with boot covers, but I have no idea what those are.

3. http://www.partycity.com/product/costumes+%26+accessories/teen+girls/see+all/lovely+ladybug+costume+teen.do?sortby=bestSellers&page=2

If you don’t any of my ideas..Be glad to take in yours! :) Just remember…NO pink, NO princesses, NO fairies, NO gothic, NO superheroes! And I prefer something form the storybook or an insect (or is that a little “last year”?).
Thanks everyone and happy early Halloween! ;P

answers:

I like Wizard of Oz, but honestly, the Lady Bug costume is too adorable!

Your Questions About Gargoyles

Posted by on January 30, 2012 under Gargoyles

Laura asks…

Is there a web page about types of gargoyles?

Im just lazy, and this will be a more interesting question for u to answer than “how can i get that boy to like me”, lol.
i brought a new gargoyle for my collection today, he is just gorgeous. He is a winged one tho, isnt there a different name for that type?
Any name suggestions as well? Im thinking Harry. lol

answers:

While Gargoyles vary vastly in size and in shape, There are primarily two types of Gargoyle.

One is a Canine like Gargoyle. They re fairly intelligent and strong, but not as intelligent as a human and lacking any sort of speech capability. It weighs around 300 pounds in it’s flesh form, is quick, very strong, and very loyal to it’s “clan” of Gargoyles.

The second is the more common and Humanoid Gargoyle. These always stand upright, like a human, and possess a pair of wings that enable it to glide, despite it’s bulk. However, for whatever reason, the appearance and placement of the Gargoyle wings can vary greatly.

The more common appearances for a Gargoyle is a semi-demonic looking face, sometimes with horns. The wings are often leathery in appearance, similar to Dragon Wings, though these as well vary, and are sometimes membranes between the arm and torso of the gargoyle, or even feathered and bird like.

Tails are a common trait of Gargoyles, though not every gargoyle has them. Skin color also varies wildly, though is usually a darker color. Deep reds, blues and gray’s are common, though almost every color has been reported.

They have a variable number of teeth, ranging from 20 to 48, with fairly sharp and slightly elongated canines.

Most have hair like humans, but this too is variable, as are most characteristic. Some are hairless, while others are covered in fur, or even feathers.

Their hands and feet end in three fingers and three toed claws. These claws are strong, and often capable totearing into stone and even steel. Most gargoyles do not use their claws as weapons, though considering this dishonorable. The most common use for the claws is climbing, where their strength allows them to dig furrows and hand holds into the sides of stone and plasticrete building, letting them climb up to gliding heights.

The Humanoid Gargoyles range in size from several feet tall, to seven feet tall, with substantial bulk do to their muscle mass. Despite rumors, however, they re not made of stone, at least not at night. During the daylight hours, however, they transform into a stone-like substance that is very much like granite.

Habitat: Gargoyles most often prefer to “sleep” in their stone form on rooftops, looking much like their namesakes, the traditional Gargoyle Statue. However, during the night, in their flesh form, they can reside almost anywhere, though they do prefer large, open structures, usually on the top of large buildings.

2nd link below consists of several types of gargoyles. =D Hope it helps!

Mary asks…

How was gargoyles related to illuminati?

i was reading online but it didnt say how, does anybody know?

answers:

Illumanati is bullshit.

Ruth asks…

Who was the first king of England to have gargoyles on a castle?

And what years encompassed his reign?

answers:

I don’t know if he was the first, but King John decorated the bridge in the bailey of Nottingham castle with stone griffins and gargoyles (now all gone, sadly.) He reigned from 1199.

Charles asks…

what if the tengo mountain forest goblins from Japan join forces with the european waterspout gargoyles?

will there be breeding? the human race will be obliterated ?
will we have to depend on the power rangers or the mutant ninja turtles? what should I do when this happens? what if it happens tomorrow ? what if they inseminate me?

answers:

Then we will have a lot of fun.

David asks…

What is your experience with gargoyles?

Do they bite? Are they beautiful little beasts? Do they have infectuous diseases?

Ruth asks…

I want a dragon but even Hogwarts won’t help!!??

Start at Baronaw. Head DIRECTLY east and you will find a man. He will tell you where the egg is. Go buy some magic spells first because it is a long journey. Keep going and kill whatever is in your path. Now go into the Dreaded Forest. You will see a goblin. Kill him. You now have the ghostly cape. Keep going and give the ghost you see the cape. In return he will give you 400 gold. Now change direction and go west towards the castle. Except go for the hollowed trees. Reach inside them and you will find a key. Head north from there. Use the key on the next gate you see. You are now in the dragon’s lair. Go to the 10th floor and the egg is there. It is easy because you only have to kill rats. In the 10th floor you will find the egg. YOU NOW HAVE A BABY DRAGON EGG. Hatch it and now you can fly throughout the world feasting on whatever you want and doing whatever you want! I DID THIS BUT I DIDN’T DO IT RIGHT OR SOMETHING BECAUSE IT DIDN’T WORK!!!! PLEASE HELP ME I REALLY WANT A DRAGON!!!
I already tried Romania and the Cured Forest and they didn’t work either.

George asks…

How to beat red dragon on aqworlds (not a question, just telling you a way to beat it)?

Ok, people who want to beat the red dragon on aqworlds, here is a way you can do it with TWO people or more. (with two people, it will be very long though) Get someone to be a healer, (specifically yourself) and the other people fight the dragon. Stand near the exit and heal when needed. Once you heal, run out the exit, then run back into the dragon’s lair. Repeat the process I just said, until the dragon is at an HP level that you can kill, and run into battle to defeat the dragon.

answers:

Or you could just use cheat engine to hack it and get infinite health lol

Susan asks…

Does anyone else miss the days where games werent beating them but how good were you at them (scores)?

Mandy asks…

Is there any site where I can stream dragon ball a full episodes off my ipod?

I really want to know if there are any sites where I can actually be on my ipod (not my pc) and watch full dragon ball z episodes on my iPod without using a converter of some sort.

answers:

I used youtube for my ipod cos they have most eps. . . But try watch-dragonball.com or watch-dragonball-z.com

Daniel asks…

What do you think is better avatar or dragon ball z?

I think dragon ball z destroys it but avatar has a good story line and it’s cool to watch? what do you guys think?

answers:

I don’t know why people make such a fuss with Goku dying so many times. He only dies twice. Thats not too much.

And plus, DBZ is better to watch. Avatar has an amazing story line but since they ended it in only three seasons im frustrated because I think they could have added some more because we don’t even know what happened to Zuko’s mother or anything. It feels like the makers rushed the ending

Paul asks…

How many volumes are in Dragon Ball VIZBIG 5?

Usually, the VIZBIG collections contain three separate volumes of the series, but that would leave out the last volume of Dragon Ball in this case. Does the 5th VIZBIG edition include four volumes, or are they leaving the last volume out? If they are, Will it get the VIZBIG treatment apart from any other volumes?

Your Questions About Dragons

Posted by on January 25, 2012 under Gargoyles

Joseph asks…

What can anyone tell me about bearded dragons?

I recently had a turtle that had passed away so i was looking into a new pet to replace him….I was in the pet store the other day and saw these bearded dragons. They were really cool looking but I really dont know anything about them. I havea 40 gallon take to put one in which looks ok since they are so small. Can anyone give me some info on these so I know if I am making a good decision?
Another lizard I had seen up there was a chameleon. they looked pretty cool. Any suggestions for a great reptile pet?

answers:

Bearded Dragons are rather expensive. Adults are more afordable. Babies and juveniles can eat anywhere from 30-100 crickets a day. They should be fed as many crickets as they’ll eat in a 10 minute time period atleast 3x each day. Adults however need a lot less protien in their diet, around 30 a week sounds good. I feed my adult 4 in the afternoon, so she wont refuse to eat her veggies in the daytime. Crickets, silkworms, and lobster roaches (more like beatles) can safely be used as a staple diet of insects. Wax worms and super worms as treats only, since a lot of lizards will get “addicted” to fatty foods and only want those…kinda like a kid with candy. 2 or 3 treats a week at the most. Feeding fatty foods as a staple can result in fatty liver disease over time. You also need to dust their prey with reptile calcium and multivitamin supplements. I don’t know what the girl below me is talking about, but you can use a worm as a staple. The silkworm happens to be the best staple insect you can feed a beardie. Also, I had many problems with the reply the other guy posted. No pinkies or mealworms…the mealworms are TOO hard to be digested and the chitin and exoskeleton can cause impaction. Pinkies carry parasites, are high in fat, and are also hard to be digested. I don’t recommended feeding the two.
For the greens, it’s rather simple. Just pick up some collard greens, and mustard greens from the grocery store, along with a few types of squashes. You can add fruits to their salad as treats. Don’t feed iceburg or romaine lettuce. Iceburg has been known to cause diarrhea and both of the two has nearly NO nurtional value. It’s basically water. I would stongly suggest to stick to a variety of good foods, such as collard, mustard, turnip and almost every type of squash. Visit beautifuldragons.com for a food list.
Cages, you can use a 20 gallon until the dragon is about 10-12 inches in full length. Juveniles can upgrade to a 40 gallon and stay in it the rest of it’s life. 40 gallon breeders are the absolute minimum size for one adult. Bigger is better. The lengths for an adult must be 36″ in length and 18″ in width. Most people think that since the gallons of the tank is larger, than thats bigger. But usually they buy aquariums, which is narrower and taller. A lot of people custom make their own cages, which can be done with a little imagination. I have a cage that’s made from a few doors and some wood and screen…other people have made theirs from old dressers. Whichever you choose, make sure you don’t use or buy wood that is cedar or pine. The fumes are toxic to beardies.
As substrate I would stick to something solid! PLEASE don’t use any sand or anything loose! Beardies do not live in sandy deserts. The ground in Australia, where they originated, is hard packed clay, grass and sticks really. Reptile carpet, indoor/outdoor carpet with no loops, paper towels, non adhesive shelf liner, ceramic tile, newspaper, etc. The pet store will tell you sand or repti bark or whatever else they have is digestable. It’s not. Most companys will slap anything on a package in order to sell it. I’ve seen a lot of necropsies on beardies and other lizards with their intestines packed up with loose substrate that resulted in their death.
Basking Temperatures can range around 110 for a baby. I personally don’t go below 107 or 115.
Juveniles can also range around 110. I don’t go above 111 or below 105.
Adults basking temps can be around 100-105. They need atleast 95F to digest food properly. All ages need a cool side around 80-85.
DO NOT use UTHs, heat mats, or heat rocks. Beardies, like many other lizards, can not tell how hot it is under their bellies and wont move if it does get to hot causing nasty thermal burns. Heat sources that are used above are more natural and safer. Beardies have a sensor on the top of their heads to let them know how hot it gets, and when to move or burrow when it does.
They also NEED a UVB light. This will help them obsorbe calcium in their bodies. A beardie deprived from UVB rays will more likely suffer from metabolic bone disease or calcium defecientcy, and early stage of MBD. I usually use Repti-glo 8.0 or Reptisun 10.0. They are probably two of the best you can use. MVB also work well, but they break easily. The UVB light needs to be within 1 foot of the dragon, and if all possible, safely mounted in the cage. Screen can block out almost 50% of rays. Use the tube UVB’s, not the screw in socket kind. Be sure you put the UVB in the basking area.
I would measure basking temps with a digital thermometer with probe. These are about $8 at Wal-mart. Put the sensor where you want to measure the temp.

Beardies also need to be soaked atleast a few times a week. Just put them in the tub and let them soak in pee/luke warm water for 20 minutes. Fill the water up to their arm pits and never leave them unattended!

Beardies make awesome pets..even for kids (under supervision ofcourse). They’re so nice and docil and will tug the strings of your heart! If you decide to get a dragon, make sure you do a lot of research.
Chams are more of a “look, don’t touch lizard.”

Lizzie asks…

What is the common cliche with dragons in fantasy stories?

What are some of the things you hate or love about dragons and magic in fantasy stories? What are things you miss seeing or have never seen in fantasy with dragons? Any ideas for me on how to make a unique dragon idea for my story?

answers:

I know that dragons are supposed to be scary, and I’ve read about those in stories, but I haven’t seen too many in movies…(were they trying to play down the scary element because the movies were aimed at kids?)
I think it would be fun if there was a dragon in a story that really represented evil–that had real evil intent–not just one that steals and devours maidens, but is scheming as well as big and scaly and fiery. Maybe that’s not very different, just my opinion.

David asks…

How do you calculate AC in dungeons and dragons 4th edition?

We are just starting out and we have a very inexperienced DM. So, basically how do you calculate AC in dungeons and dragons 4th edition?

answers:

Calculating AC in 4th edition is not all that difficult, it is just making sure you have all the little bonuses added in.

1. Start with 10.
2. Add half your level, rounded down.
3. Add the bonus from your armor. (if any)
4. Add the enchantment bonus from your armor (if any)
5. Add the bonus from your shield (if any)
6. If you are wearing heavy armor skip this step, otherwise:
Add either your Dex Modifier or Int Modifier, whichever is higher. (minimum +0)
7. Add any feat bonuses you might have. (IE Unarmored Agility) (if any)
8. Add any class bonus you might have. (IE Swordmage Warding) (if any)

What do i need to get to start playing dungeons and dragons?

What do i need to get to start playing dungeons and dragons and around how much will it cost? Is it like just one big kit? Also i was reading dungeons and dragons for dummies and it only lists for classes(jobs or whatever) like fighter, spellcaster, cleric, and rogue, arent there more?

answers:

If you were trying to start your own group you would need the three core books:
Player’s Handbook
Dungeon Masters Guide
Monster Manual
some dice (not just six-sided but 4- 8- 10- and 20-sided)
pen & paper
some like-minded friends

Figure on spending about $100 or so to start from scratch. If you really get into the hobby with miniatures, extra books, and accessories you can spend as much as your budget allows.

The latest version is 4.0, just recently released, I think most people are playing 3.5 right now, but a lot will likely transition to 4.0. You could look for used 3.5 version if you want to save some money.

I never recommend trying to learn to play from scratch. Those three books have a lot of rules to learn and trying to read an play is often confusing and might spoil the game for you.

I recommend if at all possible find a group that knows how to play and join them, even if just for a game or two. There are a lot of players out there that are willing to teach the game to new players. Try looking for RPGA sponsored games (http://www.rpga.com) at your local game store. The other advantage is that they will have all the books, dice, miniatures you will need to get started.

As for classes, the core books have: barbarians, bards, clerics, druids, fighters, rogues, sorcerers, and wizards. For 3.5 there are a lot of extra books already out there that have more classes but those are the base classes. Starting out you should just worry about the base classes and base books.

Donna asks…

What edition of Dungeons and Dragons would be good for a beginner to buy?

My friends and I want to start playing Dungeons and Dragons, but looking at all of the editions and different types is a little overwhelming. So which edition(s) should I try to buy, and what else would I need or what would be good for me to buy?

answers:

If you are willing to spend the money, and you want user-friendly but a little more like a video-game with assigned roles in combat (like tank, damager), 4th edition D&D is putting out a steady stream of material. It does not have free online rules and will be the most expensive venture.

If you are willing to spend the money, and you want more traditional D&D style characters and don’t mind having a lot of rules, Pathfinder (by Paizo) has taken 3rd Edition D&D and progressed in a different direction than 4th edition (3rd and 4th are not compatible). It’s rules are also online for free, though the books and writers are excellent quality. You can play 3rd edition as well with free online rules, and there are numerous free adventures for download from Wizards archive.

Older editions like 1st and 2nd are still around, but you may have a harder time attracting new players to it. The rules are very outdated and there isn’t a lot of balance.

With all editions, you’ll need a set of gaming dice (at any hobby store), miniatures or tokens to represent monsters and characters (you don’t have to purchase, even coins or spare dice will do if you’re saving money), and one battle mat for combat for the entire group (at gaming stores).

Your Questions About Dragon

Posted by on January 24, 2012 under Gargoyles

Robert asks…

I am thinking about getting a bearded dragon, how much would all the accessories cost?

I’ve been researching bearded dragons these last couple weeks and I am interested in getting one. I am an experienced pet owner when it comes to raising reptiles. I have raised snakes, turtles, and tortoises and am considering getting a baby bearded dragon soon. I want to set his tank up before i get him, any ideas on how much it would all cost?

answers:

First of all, you need this website: http://www.beardeddragon.org

You will learn everything you need there.

Secondly, DO NOT LISTEN TO ADVICE FROM THE PET STORE!! They don’t know squat about caring for exotics, so make sure you know everything you need before you go, and don’t let them talk you out of something you know to be true. That’s why you need the above website!

Here is a basic list:

20g tank minimum. You’ll need at least a 40g breeder when he’s grown, so you may want to go ahead and get the bigger one. You can block off part of it if he seems intimidated by the size.
Craigslist is a great place to find cheap tanks.

Solid substrate for the bottom – Repticarpet, paper towels, non-adhesive shelf liner, or my favorite, tiles. Tiles are great. You only have to buy them once. They are super easy to clean and disinfect. They come in a lot of colors and styles so you can customize your look. They also help keep beardie’s nails filed down. Sand, especially calcium sand, or any other particle substrate poses an impaction risk and should not be used for a dragon under one year old. And then washed childrens playsand is the only safe option. Please consider these cons about sand before you make a final decision, though.

*possible impaction risk
*have to keep buying it
*heavy
*hard to dump out for tank cleaning
*impossible to disinfect (it’s important to disinfect any surface your dragon has pooped on because they do carry salmonella)
*stinks
**Absorbs moisture from poop, so that fecal bacteria is left behind even after you scoop out the solid waste. You dragon walks through this fecal matter and spreads it about his cage. He ends up living in what is basically a litter box.
**The left behind fecal bacteria can cause an increased risk of parasites

You can go real cheap here, pennies for paper towels or less than $10 for tiles.

Thermometer – A temp gun or digital indoor/outdoor therm with a probe on a wire. The stick on type are useless, and it’s important that you accurately monitor your temps. The probe goes directly on the basking spot, and this temp should be 100-110. The cool side should stay around 80.
Wal Mart sells the Acurite Digital Weather Station for $12. It is an indoor/outdoor therm with the probe and works perfect for this application.

Heat bulb and fixture – Lowes and Wal Mart both have metal dome work light fixtures. These work great. The bulb can be just a regular household bulb. You might need to try different wattages to see which one gives you the temps you need. Usually a 75W or 100W will do.
Bulb <$1, Fixure: $10

UVB bulb and fixture – AVOID THE COMPACT COIL. Linear fluorescents provide the best UVB (besides MVB bulbs, but you can learn about that on bd.org) and REPTISUN 10.0 (not ReptiGLO) is the best fluor bulb on the US market. You can get the fixture at Lowes or Wal Mart for a reasonable price. Make sure the fixture does not have a glass or plastic shield over the light. Glass and plastic both completely filter UVB. The bulbs are way cheaper if you order them online from somewhere like Pet Mountain.
Bulb: $30-$60 depending on which type you get. The fluor needs to be replaced ever 6 months and the MVB just once a year so the yearly costs are about the same.
Fixture: 24" fluor fixture at Wal Mart for $8, or the work light fixture for MVB for $10.

Then you'll want some cage furniture, a basking rock or log, a hide if you like (although a hide isn't really necessary), some fake greenery to make it pretty. You might want to consider something to enclose 3 sides of your tank. Some beardies freak out about all the visibility, but some don't seem to notice. I used fake bamboo blinds to do this and it looked great.

You'll need a plan for your live feeders. Again, way cheaper to buy in bulk online than a few at a time at the pet store (and healthier too, no doubt). A 20 qt or bigger plastic tub does nicely. Cut a hole in the lid and hot glue or duct tape some screen on top for ventilation. You can learn all you need about caring for your crix at bd.org, and you can also learn about other feeders.

Here's a good website to tell you which veggies are good for your dragon:

http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.co…

Okay, just as important, I will give you a list of things NOT to get, no matter what the pet store tells you!

*calcium sand
*crushed walnut shells
*any substrate that has particles
*stick on thermometers
*crickets bigger than the space between his eyes
*mealworms
*compact coil UVB bulbs
*heat pad
*blue or red night light

How do I sell a male and female bearded dragon?

I have a male and female bearded dragon. One is a female giant dragon about two and a half years old and the male is a topaze dragon with a little orange on the face and a orange beard about the same age as the female. What would be the best way to sell them?

answers:

You can post classified ads in hte paper, even an ad in petfinder.com. There are also several sources online including classifieds, message boards and auction sites where you can post an ad.

Just please make sure that whoever they go to is going to be committed to providing those animals the care they need and deserve

Jenny asks…

How do I store dragon fruits with ice?

I want to buy some dragon fruit (pitaya fruit cactus) for my girlfriend’s parents in California but I’m just wondering how I would transport them. I know you should refrigerate them but we’re going by car so would putting them in a cooler with ice be enough to keep them fresh? The drive will be around 15 hours. Thanks
Also, am I able to transport dragon fruit to US from Canada?

answers:

For your second question, you better ask your local postal service or professional courriers like FedEx; if they can transport it, you probably can too.

As for the dragon fruit, well, it’s best to consider that cactii thrive in dry and humid, but never wet, conditions. Cool, but NOT cold, temperatures will keep them fresh; freezing will ruin the texture and the flavor of the fruit.

Here’s what you can do: wrap the fruits in ziplocks or plastic bags, such that they can’t get wet from the ice. Put them on top of the ice, but make sure they’re not totally buried. Then they should last for one to three days in the fridge–after that, you better just slice them and freeze them, but the texture won’t be as great, though you can make them into shakes or cocktails.

Enjoy!

Thomas asks…

What is every single supply a bearded dragon would ever need?

What is every single supply a bearded dragon would ever need?
What is NEEDED not wanted… NEEDED to feed a bearded dragon daily?

answers:

Our beardies live happily together in a 75 gallon tank. We feed them fresh kale every day and crickets every three or so days. They have a basking lamp on side of their cage which keeps them at about 90-95 degrees, and a UV bulb that extends the entire length of the cage. We also have some decorations that they can climb up on but that is not necessary. A water bowl is needed as well, even though they dont usually drink a whole lot, it keeps moisture in the air for them.

Your Questions About Gothic Halloween Costume Ideas

Posted by on January 23, 2012 under Gargoyles

Thomas asks…

I have access to an old bridal gown, now I want to turn it into a gothic bride for halloween. Any ideas?

I know I’m going to shorten it, and I’ll have dark eye makeup, but I need more ideas. I’m leaning more toward the vampire bride look. Plus I have limited time. I need this costume for tonight. Please give any ideas you have, all will be appreciated!

answers:

I would alter the hem unevenly, as if its really old and been torn. Try white fishnet hose and gloves, if you can’t find those at a halloween supply store, than im sure a sex shop in town will have it. And if you can find Go Go boots, you know the Knee High boots, then thats a major plus. Also. Blood. Have some one take a paint brush, dip it in blood and fling it at you. Not the brush itself but the blood. You can make it look like she dismembered some people.

Sharon asks…

I need ideas to build off of what I already have for my Halloween costume! Help me?

I’m (hopefully) getting a very gothic corset dress, since I magically found a non-slutty one, to wear as my base of my halloween costume (I hate prepackaged ones).
I don’t want to be the expected vampire or undead blahblahblah, and if anyone had any ideas I could use please tell me!

answers:

Either be a goth person or bloody mary by splattering blood on you and bleach your dress white

Your Questions About Gargoyle Gecko

Posted by on January 22, 2012 under Gargoyles

Richard asks…

what lizards can i keep in a walk in terrium that are small so i can have a few differentt kinds?

like crested geckos gargoyle and flying lizards and any other suggestions like coletes
where am i going to find a divider for half a room i have to put in more doors im convert a room to a cage not a fifty gallon tank

answers:

Never house different species together, end of. Its cruel and unneccessary. You could split the viv into different sections but the lizards must have no contact with each other. Different species have different requirements, will fight with each other, can pass on diseases which dont harm them but could harm another one, will get stressed out about the other lizards etc. Theres loads of reasons why its a really bad idea. Just dont do it.

Paul asks…

Crested Gecko Help!!! (Gecko owners/breeders ONLY)?

I’m getting a Gargoyle (very similar to Crested) gecko soon and I want to know some info:
-Yearly cost (on Crested Gecko Diet(CDG))
-How many times (and how much) do you feed it daily on CGD (baby and adult)
-How big the cage should be
-some helpful tips for owning one
Thanks!!!!

answers:

1. Contingent on how much you feed when you put in. I usually do a teaspoon worth of powder and the according amount of water for each feeding. I wouldn’t say more than $50 per year and definitely not over $100.

2. Well if your gecko eats it all in one night, then feed more. If the gecko doesn’t eat it all in one night, not to worry; some are less heavy eaters than others, but you shouldn’t leave uneaten food in the tank longer than 2 days as it will start to rot if it doesn’t dry out and can lead to bacterial and fungal growth.

3. 20-30 gallons is optimal. Tall tank is preferable to longer tank.

Nancy asks…

Tokay Gecko’s For Beginners?

I’m a beginner to the gecko world (I have leopards and a gargoyle… but that’s about it), and I have heard a lot of things about the Tokay Gecko

…most of them bad. For the most part people choose not to handle them as they are usually aggressive. They also pack a painful bite, twisting and wriggling while your hand is still in their death grip. Well, I have no desire to handle this gecko. I have pets that I can socialize with (and have to, for some). My sibling used to breed scorpions, and I just liked watching them hunt and eat. The gecko will just be nice to have around. Can I use gloves if the need strikes me? A colleague simply uses a t-shirt to mask him, then grabs it with her hand… anyway-

-what do YOU think? Tokay for this beginner? Your experience? Because I have know idea at this point.

answers:

Not a good idea. These things are nasty. Haven’t heard or had success with socializing them. I work at a pet store and we had one who was simply nasty. They have a nice bite to them. Personally, i’d try a panther gecko or a crested. They’re very personable. Good luck and make sure to do research first :)

Mary asks…

which one is easier to take care of?

im thinking about getting a lizard.and its between a frilled dragon, a crested gecko, and a gargoyle gecko.which one is easiest to take care of?

answers:

The crested gecko is the easiest, but all reptiles require specific environments to stay healthy so do your research :) .

Crested geckos are simple to care for because they don’t require special heating or lighting and can eat a powdered diet (Repashy’s Crested Gecko Diet) that’s simply mixed with water. They’re also easy to handle.

Betty asks…

geckos might be fighting at night?

i have a gargoyle gecko and a crested gecko in the same cage and im not sure if they’re fighting or not since im usually asleep
i think they are because the crests around my crested gecko seem smaller than usual
if they are fighting what can i do since i dont really have the money to get another another cage and i really dont want tp get rid of one

answers:

Well have you seen any marks or scratches or bite marks? Other than that if one is scaring the other away from the food then i have to assume that your feeding rapashy crested gecko diet. Then add a second food dish on each side of the cage.if your feeding crickets then you need to separate them. Goodluck
