rate my story pleasee ?

This is just the beginning and has not been edited so ignore the grammatical errors. It follows a girl called Ivy Knight, as she deals with life, her fathers betrayal and living with three competitive older brothers, over the years as she grows up. She sees things differently, is wise beyond her years and never fails to surprise. You don’t have to spare my feelings, rate it out of ten if you can . Oh and i’m a bit confused as how to refer to the parents – as you can probably tell.

Chapter One

Ivy woke with a start.
The orange light that filtered through her curtains, reflected off the sequined material. She lay in the warm sunlight, blissfully enjoying the warmth of her duvet cover, remembering the colourful dream she’d woken from.
Her mother burst the peaceful bubble; by strolling into the room and yanking back the curtains.
“Ivy, hurry or we’ll be late, I’ve got to drop Tom off early this morning” she said with a harassed edge to her voice.
Ivy sat up, her pale gold curls framing her heart-shaped face in a tangled mess, her big green eyes, scanning her room. Nobody could deny she was pretty; Ivy had her mother’s pale skin, but otherwise did not resemble her family at all. Ivy was different on many accounts. Usually, eight-year-old girls want pink, girly bedrooms, but when her mother asked her, Ivy had told her she wanted an orange bedroom. Nobody questioned Ivy’s decisions these days sometimes because she was too stubborn to argue with, she lived on a completely different frequency to everyone else. Her responses were always surprising; she could amuse herself for hours at a time, using just her imagination, and construct a deep conversation with an adult. Her parents and three brothers were past wondering what went on her head. Ivy rolled out of bed; in the white vest-top and shorts she wore as pajamas.
“Why where’s he going?” she asked her mum, rummaging through her wardrobe for clean clothes.
“School trip, so get dressed quickly” her mum closed the door behind her and Ivy could hear her crashing about in the kitchen, unloading the dishwasher with more than enough force.
Ivy dressed in her school uniform, rolling up the sleeves of her gray cardigan and pulling a brush through her longs curls, before skipping downstairs. She pictured a tower, with steep spiral stairs, and an angry dragon. Pounding down the stairs, she crashed into James at the bottom.
“Steady on, you daydream too much” he said, laughing as he steadied her. Five years age difference did not stop James being Ivy’s favourite brother.
“You concentrate on reality too much” she replied smartly, ducking under his arm into the kitchen, where she jumped up onto a stool at the counter.
“I already made you porridge because we’re in a rush” Rita placed the steaming bowl in front of her daughter, with a harassed sigh.
Ivy looked down at it with distaste, when it came to food, more than anything, Ivy was very particular.
“Mum I can’t find my socks!” James shouted from upstairs.
“You must have more than one pair of socks, James” Rita shouted, pulling strands of her hair back from her face.
“They’re in the microwave!” Kyle called from the living room.
Sean, their father, got up from his breakfast to investigate, said microwave. As he did, Ivy switched her porridge with his buttered toast, and began eating it before he sat down again, throwing a disgusted look at the burnt socks in his hand.
“What is wrong with that boy?” he muttered, before starting at the porridge bowl in front of him. He spared a glance at Ivy and shook his head, before digging in.
Ivy watched her family rush about the house in frantic chaos, her dad escaping to work, and her mum losing the car keys minutes before their departure.
Eventually they did leave the house, but only after they had to unlock the door twice, for somebody to go back and get something. Ivy sat between James and Kyle, Kyle texting one of his friends on his new phone.
“Look at him, reckons he’s a cool dude now that he’s started secondary school” James laughed at his younger brother.
“James…” warned Rita.
“I do not” Kyle snapped back.
“Yes you do!” James laughed louder.
“I’ve decided my life’s ambition” Ivy announced, apparently unaware of the quarrel between her brothers.
“Oh yeah, what is it this time?” James asked, momentarily distracted.
“I want to be a director”
“What like a movie director?” Tom asked, with an incredulous glance over his shoulder at her.
“You watch too much American T.V. I want to be a film director. Movies are an American term” Ivy corrected him, the adult vocabulary sounding slightly odd in her sweet voice.
Tom rolled his eyes, used to being outsmarted by someone seven years younger than him, while James laughed.
They dropped the boys off first, before driving to Ivy’s Primary school. She jumped out of the car, her brown leather bag swinging from her slender shoulders. She gave her mum a peck on the cheek before running off into t

I’m a hard to please anime lover, please help me!?

Hi, there are quite a few animes I’ve watched but not all of them I liked; and some I found just so-so. But I know there have to be some great anime out their that I haven’t seen just yet.

Animes I thought were excellent : Dragon Ball Z, Naruto (non-filler eps), Bleach (non-filler eps), One Piece, HunterXHunter, Ghost Hunt, Death Note, Gintama, D.Grayman, Claymore, Code Geass, Welcome to the NHK, Black Lagoon, Darker than Black,Hellsing, Initial D, Kenichi, and Baccano.

Animes I thought were So-so: Shaman King, Yugioh, Jo-oh-sei, Tower of Druaga, FMA, Berzerk, Basilisk, Soul Eater, Spiral, Air Gear, Dragon Drive, Kiba, Blue Gender, Buso Renkin, Desert Punk, Chrono Crusade, Elfin Lied, Gantz, Ruroni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo, and Mushi-shi.

Animes I didn’t like very much: Guren Lagan. Eureka Seven, .hack, avatar the last air bender, Blood+, Monster, and Wolfs Rein.

I know I’ve watched a lot of anime….

I’d like the animes to be English Dubbed but thats not necessary, no chick shows like Fruits Basket, Oruan Host Club, Wall Flower, or Moon Phase please.

I promise I will give a best answer to the one who deserves it most. I like action animes, comedy, adventure, uniqueness, and not kiddish. Any attempts to help me are apriciated, but I dont want a list from google, I want to watch animes that you personally have watched and think I’d enjoy. I’m being too picky arent I…-sigh- *bows head* Please and thank you!

Black Butler and Eye Shield Sound interesting. I’ve heard of Black Butler but I just havn’t taken the time to look it up. What a terrible name xD. As for Hitman…yea I tried to watch it but the first 4 episodes sucked I thought…maybe I will give it another go…

As for Fate Stay, I watched it, but I just felt like I kept waiting for it to get better…I didn’t really enjoy it very much… Sorry I’ve watched about 150 anime so listing them all is impossible lol…As for Fairy Tail, I keep telling my self to watch it…but I cant get past the first episode…Something always interrupts me or some non-sense…I keep telling my self that it has to be good, it’s manga is ranked one of the best in the biz. Thanks a lot, I’ll definitely look into those.

GTO is an excellent anime, I loved it, man I can’t believe how many anime I’ve watched that I love so much and I forgot to put them up on the list. High School of the dead was awesome too.

Durarara actually was brought to my attention the other day by a good friend, I’m getting that an Eden of the East at the moment.
And I just finished getting Shiki…I hope its good…

I watched Fullmetal Panic already, actually one of the few animes my girl friend watched with me…too bad the filler episodes were better than the actual main story line.

This world was different from the Earth, for the only magic was of make-believe. This world has seen many wars and also many wonders. There was always beauty around; you just have to really open your eyes to see it. The idea of magic became only of myths and legends; the last remnants remain with books. This world has millions upon millions of these treasures, but no matter how great they are, one can only step into the world of magic briefly. This world was highly hectic and the old ways were stripped. Few ever stop to smell the roses; few ever realise the roses exist.
Within a large spiraled stone tower, an ebony-rimmed glass stood centre over a sweet cherry wood table. It was fairly dark, as the sun had said its farewells to the midnight blue sky, leaving the earth exposed to the dark — except for the odd candle glows throughout the tower. Nature’s song lulled the nearby forests into a pleasant slumber. You could hear it from the slanted windows; it was hard resisting joining in alongside it. The stone walls were rough and cold, although comforting for they were a somewhat pleasant shelter. A hard clunking sound came up the spiral steps, and an old fellow emerged. He was small and meek-looking, yet his grey eyes told of age and wisdom. He wore a simple black robe that was faded with age.
He stepped closer to the table. With a weathered hand outstretched, he traced the outlines of the ebony rim and focused on the glass. He leaned in, looking deeply into the glass before him and analysing each detail. He muttered something, and the clouds swirling over the glass’s surface began to change. Strange shapes began to appear in the glass — a hand here, a face there, a tree near the bottom, all of them twisted and demented. The old man leaned in closer until his nose almost touched the glass, and his body went slack as he fell under the glass’s spell.
“There is a massive world I see. It holds many secrets – for that, I continue to look. There is much death and destruction here; I can see the past and the future, and believe this pain will never end. Many thousands have died from false leadership, many times crimson droplets rained down. Like our own world, there are many languages, but the different quantities of those tongues are vast. The different cultures are ever-changing as it separates the people. Towards our cities great towers loom, which rip into the skies, in their cities nothing is there, except the harsh atmosphere so unbearable it’s nothingness. Across it metal dragons fly, holding many within its belly. Many billions occupy our over-crowded place, draining its spirit rapidly as they grow in number. This world contains such vast knowledge it appears alien and unreal to the eye. However, this world is full of greed and hate. Thick smogs grow to smother the planet with unearthly embers, encasing it and blocking out the sun. The old wonders begin to fade as the new rockets upward. This is the world that begins to forget its own history.

Looking at Alagaësia through the complex naked eye looks like nothing, a minor normal star but through a telescope you can see the glimmer of three stars, these three stars, when joint up are the constelations that make up Alagaësia. In fact they are not normal stars they are a dissolved planets which came togetheer in the atmosphere, making up one of the most descreet planets in the galaxy. You couldn’t really call Alagaësia a planet, it is more a floating world. Heaven or hell, maybe neither, maybe both. Nobody knows what it up there, and nobody wants to know either. The smartest of all scientests have looked into it, and they just thought it was a few more stars in the universe, but I think I might know more.

Ok. I’m kinda into anime. And I really want to find out what the whole story line of dragon ball is. Not just the first one or the second one. I want to know the whole story from beginning to the episodes that are on now. Who do you think is the most underrated character in Dragon Ball?

It could be any character from the original Dragon Ball to Dragon Ball GT. I think Yamcha and Tien should have played a bigger role in Dragon Ball Z and GT. Same goes for Piccolo. But instead everyone is overshadowed by the Saiyans.

what is the meaning of this dream i had?

okay, i remember having this dream where i was standing in the middle of the road (not main road), about 30 feet from my grandmother’s house and suddenly, a statue of the Virgin Mary appeared beside me. She was talking to me and She said “To get salvation, you must race me to you grandmother’s house. if you win, you will have salvation and I wont, but if you lose, you won’t have it and I will” So i began running, but suddenly, i had a pair of rollerblades on. i couldn’t run. it was like trying to run under water. The statue of The Virgin Mary got to my grandmother’s garden and a huge beam of light shone through the windows of the house, into my face. i couldn’t see anything and then i woke up crying.
what is this dream telling me? was i not supposed to race her?

In the movie, “The Dead”, based on the short story by James Joyce, the theme is about people being alive literally, but dead figuratively. One is “dead” when he/she is not in touch with his feelings, when he is untrue to himself. There are few characters in the movie that are “alive”, expressing their true feelings.

Kate Morkan, one of the hosts of the party held on Christmas Eve, is an example of a “dead” person. She is reserved, and tries to avoid anything that will cause argument or debate. An example is when she complains about the Pope. Julia, Kate’s sister, used to be a devoted member of the choir, but all her hard work resulted in nothing when the Pope banned women for church choirs. Then she realizes that she may be stirring up some emotion from other people. She then says, “Don’t listen to me; I’m just a stupid old woman!” She then says that she isn’t questioning the Pope, she just believes in decency. After that, she is interrupted by Mary Jane who says, “Everyone is quarreling because they haven’t eaten.” This shows that the mindset of these people is to just have a normal dinner, talk about pleasant things, and go back home.

The movie depicts the members of the party as just a bunch of “dead” human beings. The events of the party repeat each year: Gabriel gives a speech, everyone dances the same steps, Freddy Malins arrives drunk, and everyone eats. It is like the story narrated by Gabriel Conroy, who is the nephew of Julia and Kate Morkan, and the main character of the story. He talks about a horse that his grandfather owned that worked in a starch mill and was used to walking around in a circle in order to run a machine. Once when Gabriel’s grandfather took the horse on a walk, it saw a statue of King William III, and started walking around it. The horse represents the routine that the people of “The Dead” follow. They are unable to experience new things, and end up being blind to the rest of the world.

Michael Furey, though dead literally, represents real liveliness by displaying true passion. Michael was the former lover of Gretta Conroy, Gabriel’s wife. Gretta tells Gabriel at the end of the movie, that the song sang by Bartell D’Arcy, a tenor, reminded her of Michael. Michael was passionately in love with her when she was a young woman. Knowing that she was moving away for a while, Michael stood outside her window at the end of the garden in the rain the night before her departure. A week later, Michael died of pneumonia. Gretta said to Gabriel, “I think Michael died for me”. Michael Furey, ironically, happens to be the liveliest person in the story. He shows true passion and love when he stands outside Gretta’s window, weathering the rain.

I know about Gargoyles (1972), the TV movie, and it sucked. A film would be great to be made now especially because of the advanced film and graphics technology.
Oh, btw, no animations either. I know about the animation TV series.
